St. Gallen (CH), Bühl (Baden, D), May 2023 - Strong together in digitalisation projects. SABO Mobile IT GmbH, based in Bühl (Baden-Württemberg), is joining the Swiss Amalthea Group. Its CEO Oliver Roth is acquiring one quarter of shares in the company from the owners of SABO Mobile IT, Josef Sabo and Thomas Sykora. The Amalthea company Grossenbacher Systeme and SABO Mobile IT are jointly developing a versatile retrofit solution for voice control in order to bring existing machines and systems up to date regarding usability and efficiency while following the machine guidelines.
SABO Mobile IT GmbH and Grossenbacher Systeme AG have already been working together successfully since 2021 in digitalisation projects in the environment of industrial IT and embedded solutions, offering customers project management in one hand. Both companies have noticed that the increasing integration of IT with the automation and process level requires a fusion of embedded hardware and IT software tools. Growing demands on cyber security reinforce this.
Based on this background, the companies are now intensifying and institutionalising their cooperation. Thereby, the acquisition of shares in SABO Mobile IT GmbH by Oliver Roth is only an interim step: The long-term plan is to transfer further shares and finally the full integration of SABO Mobile IT into the Amalthea Group. Until then, Josef Sabo and Thomas Sykora will remain shareholders of SABO Mobile IT, continue managing the company and ensure the continuity of business operations for customers, employees and partners.
Bundled competence for hardware and software
"Digitalisation projects in industry and medical technology require comprehensive competence for software and hardware today and in the future. This is even more applicable against the background of the growing importance of artificial intelligence, which requires high demands on the flexibility and scalability of hardware. Therefore, the cooperation with Grossenbacher Systeme AG and its hardware focus works so well. A deepening of this partnership - also at company level with the Amalthea Group - is as obvious as it is sensible and promising," says Thomas Sykora, managing partner of SABO Mobile IT GmbH.
Oliver Roth, CEO of the Amalthea Group and Chairman of the Board of Grossenbacher Systeme AG, comments: "We want to be a modern and sustainably reliable partner for the development and production of electronics for our customers. Software has been gaining importance for years, not only in embedded systems themselves, but also at the level of cloud portals apps and AI integration. Therefore, all customers will benefit from the closer cooperation: the existing customers of the Amalthea companies as well as those of SABO Mobile IT - and even more our joint new customers. It's also a fortunate coincidence that the chemistry between the companies involved and their employees fits so well, which will additionally contribute to our success."
Project management in one hand
Since the first projects, the joint activities have developed so well that Grossenbacher Systeme AG and SABO Mobile IT GmbH are now further deepening their cooperation to increase customer benefits: The resulting technological building block will become the base for providing customers in a demanding environment with modern solutions that are future-proof and have a short time-to-market.
Current joint projects concern customised IoT gateways including the associated cloud portals as well as visualisation tailored to optimal usability. In the medical technology environment, both partners also develop according to the normative requirements of the IEC 62304 standard. In addition, cyber security solutions are integrated into the hardware and software in accordance with IEC 62443. This also includes customised portals for modern field device management (incl. roll-out and update management).
